The World

Mictlan, also called "The Celestial Plane", is a sea of stars and clouds, sky islands float amongst its waves the seasons change every time the stars change positions. Some islands house great cities and beautiful towns, and some others are full wilderness.

Not always perfect or quiet but generally peaceful.

The Myth

Musica Universalis

They say that the celestial plane is a tapestry woven by music from primordial times. Ineffable as a force of nature, but present in everything, and the stars sing and it in the vastness of the sky.

Flora

Celestial plant life is abundant in Mictlan. Biomes are varied, from temperate forests to arid deserts; but they're all full of beautiful bioluminescent plants, bright and lively, beaming energy they dance to the wind and illuminate unexpected paths to visitors as well as those coming back to their home in Mictlan. They are purely magical beings, eternal, and do not wither. With every change of the seasons their pigmentation changes, some go dormant, some become bigger and brighter

Trees are incerdibly tall and very varied in species, and forests are just as incredibly dense. They are very animated spirits full off personality, sometimes even taking a more humanoid form so they can talk to other beings; but sometimes also dormant for very long periods of time. Similarly, many plants are capable of moving and expressing themselves in unexpected ways.

Fauna

Celestial beings of different shapes and sizes, some move around the ocean travelling from island to island and some prefer being established in an island or archipelago which they turn into their home. Depending on their needs and preferences certain species require different climates but most of them are in a constant journey, travelling through the sky, learning more and more from the world that surrounds them

Notes

• As mentioned before the sky is also an ocean, and can be traversed like one.
• Seasons exist due to the change of winds and the rotation of the stars; trees and plants change in color and spirits have different reactions to it like dormancy or entering a more active state.
• The cat is always watching.
• Several festivals often take place in Mictlan; some depend on the region.
• Transformation is often necessary for enrichment; it is renewal.
