Celestials

The people of Mictlan are very diverse, it is an ethereal place where there are little to no limits. They have a strong sense of community; though islands are separate and many traditions or speech may differ they tend to try to understand each other, help each other, reach out when it's necessary, and especially share knowledge with each other.

The Myth

The Celestials

The habitants of Mictlan are mysterious creatures of all kinds. Also known as "spirits" in other realms, they are capable of taking many forms, and it is thought that depending on their age and current emotions, they become more "monstrous" but it is not an exact science, and therefore cannot be known for sure.

Angels/Demons

Aspects of nature personified, oftentimes winged, and with strong magical ablities. They are ancient and some of them even primordial, the line between them is easily blurred, a lot of the times an abritrary designation depending on the observer.

Alebrijes

Bright colorful beasts who are crafted of different materials and awake into life at 12:00AM, they are helpful, playful, have a lot to say and yet a lot of the time most of it nonsense. They are easy to befriend and sometimes if they connect with another person they decide to be their companion.

Chaneques

Mischievous guardians of the forests, they speak in riddles and like to play games, sometimes terrifying and sometimes adorable, perhaps even both; they make sure that the creatures who cannot fend for themselves stay safe and they will also steal things from travelers and hide them, distract them, or confuse them. Usually deep in the forest but seeing them around the cities is not entirely unheard of.

Nahuales

Shapeshifters and practitioners of brujería, they are well respected and known to be very wise. They usually live in towns or cities, but they will roam the realm in different shapes and forms. They give advice and teach many things necessary for a peaceful existence.

Toxiquil

Great birds, guardians of the deserts. They are elegant and majestic in their mannerisms, and can easily become fearsome. They usually live in the mountains they fly during the day and walk among many other cratures at night. They do not tolerate the endangerment of the more vulverable creatures that they protect.

Notes

• Mictlan is a vast world full of a great many number of creatures, these are some of them, but it does not encompass the full spectrum.
• Brujería means witchcraft.
• Spirits are malleable beings of the stars, designations and terms are for a more easier understanding, but they are not strict.
