THE VOID

IN THE BEGINNING

THERE WAS NOTHING
And then, a ripple of incandescent fire and freezing void exploded into a symphony of great themes, composed by divine blinding light. Unclear if the black star was creating the music or the music creating it, thousands of wings and stretched from its core and eyes of terrible beauty witnessing what was only starting to be the cosmos: a rainbow of living flames. As it descended, newly awakened Nox, the first and only black star of the worlds.

Nox is an angel-deity-horror and he's a shapeshifter. His humanoid shape varies depending on what he's feeling like, and he has many animals he likes to shift into.

When still a young god, he was in search of someone who could understand him, and he found the legend of a wishing star. He had no wish to ask for when he gazed upon it but when it arrived to his hands, a celestial appeared before him, a curious cat of the same qualities as him. He called xe Meztli, "Moon" in nahuatl.

Not long after this, he discovered the idea of creating a home which was something diverse beings were fond of doing, both in life and in the afterlife. He set out to find a place to do it and built it himself with his own hands, and it consists of a living room, a kitchen, a study, a bedroom, a guest room, and an archive. He collects shiny trinkets, magical scrolls and tomes. His home is a weird gothic cathedral-like house, with a big rose window which can be opened to fly through it, windows of stained glass and an astral clocktower which is always lit.

He doesn't have goals or plans and is only driven by fun and intrigue, exploration and discovery, he does not adhere to any rules nor he understands them, and since he's an immortal being he's a bit bizarre to encounter. Though a shapeshifter, he does not hide nonhuman features because he has no reason to believe that he should. He is flirty and affectionate, and speaks in an elegant, old-timey manner and semi-formal but does curse a lot.

Despite the fact that time means nothing to him, he's impatient, because he does not like to be bored. He enjoys travelling and seeing new people and places and is always entangled in something chaotic situation or another.

Nevertheless; in the events of Nightbringer, he is unusually set in a specific goal: To find who is responsible for the disappearance of souls in the astral realm!
