Welcome!!
The Lord of the Rings is an epic fantasy written by J.R.R Tolkien, set in the fictional world of middle earth. Its mythos is directly linked to the fictional languages; and the cultures reflect their development through both. It is a sequel to “The Hobbit” a children’s book about adventure, and it was intended to be released as one volume along with The Silmarillion, but for economic reasons it was split into three volumes: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of The King, published in 1955 and The Silmarillion wouldn’t be released until 1977. I call this a "lotr" shrine but I really this is for all things middle earth!

I I probably watched the third movie when I was about 5 years old; I have no memory of this but my older brother said that he convinced our parents to take us to the theater when The Return of the King movie was released. As I grew up, the movie trilogy would be aired on channel 5 constantly, about twice a year I think, and since I hung out with my older brother a lot I definitely sat and watched it with him at some point. Every time they aired I would watch them again, and I'm not very sure when was the first time I watched them in english!

The high fantasy genre can become pretty stale or meaningless when the text is not really saying anything, some stories don't need a point but I am the opinion that optimistic high fantasy stories usually require one, even if its not complex. I have read and watched many a fantasy thing since the genre is obviously close to my heart but I find it a bit disappointing that other authors try to replicate it without adding their own spin on it, without understanding that it is about changing the status quo. Often times its a worse version and some other times its souless. Its not always like this of course, but I think the reason high fantasy can be boring to some is that people try to restrain it from evolving.
A lot of stories try to replicate the lord of the rings without paying close attention at the many lessons and meanings that the text has. Lotr is highly critic of power, love and simple moments are given great importance, and doing acts of good for no reason other than beacuse its right is given a lot more complexity than people give it credit for. Many suggest that morality is simplistic in the lord of the rings, but analazying it more from what it seems quickly reveals it is not that way, and The Silmarillion states it clearly.
The music of the movies is so very dear to my heart. The composer of the soundtrack made a conscious effort into making the music sound diagetic, something the people of middle earth would listen to, and I greatly appreciate this. There are an insane amount of poems and songs in the books (which I honestly wish they had been featured more but I get the movies are already long enough) and not just that music is the way middle earth was created, so portraying the music of the world in such an ethereal way is an amazing achievement. There are even a number of very antique instruments included in the score.
I have many more things to say but I shall continue later
